David Bowie’s parents, David Bowie’s parents, Haywood Stenton (John) Jones and Margaret Mary (Peggy) Burns, were married on Friday 12 September 1947.
On 11 August Jones and his first wife Hilda Sullivan had divorced on the grounds of John’s adultery.
The wedding ceremony took place at Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton Hill, London, eight months after David’s birth.
