Davie Jones and the Manish Boys returned to the Eel Pie Island Jazz Club on Wednesday 19 August 1964. They had previously played the venue on 26 July.
The club was at the Eel Pie Island Hotel, on a small River Thames island near Twickenham. It was a popular venue for R&B, jazz and blues bands in the mid-Sixties.
On this occasion Bowie and the Manish Boys were on a bill with Long John Baldry and his Hoochie Coochie Men, which featured Rod Stewart on vocals and harmonica.
