Davie Jones and the Manish Boys took part in an audition for Rocky River Promotions on Thursday 14 January 1965.
The audition was to perform in Hamburg’s Star-Club, where the Beatles and other acts had honed their craft in the early Sixties.
The audition was held at the London Palladium on Argyle Street, central London. Despite high hopes, however, the Manish Boys were unsuccessful and never performed in Hamburg.
