Davie Jones and the Lower Third’s seventh performance at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Ballroom took place on Friday 6 August 1965.
It was the band’s first of two times supporting the Pretty Things – the other was the following evening on the Isle of Wight.
David Bowie was a huge fan of the band, and later recorded ‘Rosalyn’ and ‘Don’t Bring Me Down‘ on Pin Ups. His own songs included ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’, ‘The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell’, and Tin Machine’s ‘Pretty Thing’.
