David Bowie and the Buzz performed at Blackpool’s South Pier on Sunday 29 May 1966.
They were on a bill with three other acts also managed by Kenneth Pitt: Crispian St Peters, Dave Antony’s Moods, and the Mark Leeman Five.
Between 10 April and 12 June 1966, the Marquee Club in London hosted a regular Sunday night show called the Bowie Showboat. This was the only Sunday in that period in which Bowie did not appear at the club, due to the Blackpool booking.
