David Bowie’s self-titled debut album was released in the USA on 11 August 1967.
The album had previously been issued in the UK on 1 June 1967.
The US version omitted two songs – ‘We Are Hungry Men’ and ‘Maid Of Bond Street’ – due to copyright reasons. It also featured a different image of Bowie on the rear cover.
As in the UK, David Bowie was a commercial failure.
