14 September 1967 was the second consecutive day in which David Bowie starred in the silent horror short film The Image.
The Image was directed by Michael Armstrong and filmed in black and white. The shoot took place in a derelict property near Harrow Road in west London, and also starred Michael Byrne. Some unused shots of Bowie running over a nearby hill were also filmed, but remained unused in the final cut.
On 11 September Bowie had been photographed in London by Robin Bean. One of the shots was painted by William Mason, to be used as a centrepiece of the film.
The Image remained unfinished at the end of the two-day shoot. It was eventually completed by Armstrong and saw a very limited cinema release in 1968.
