David Bowie rarely performed live in the opening months of 1968. His first show of the year took place on 30 April at the Nags Head pub in Battersea, south London.
The appearance, part of blues night Kilroys, was a favour to his former producer Mike Vernon, whose wife Judy promoted the night.
Also on the bill were blues performers Duster Bennett and John Steven, and radio DJ John Peel.
The Nags Head was situated at 205 York Road. It closed in 1987 was demolished shortly afterwards.
