David Bowie had a second audition for a part in the musical Hair on 23 June 1968.
It followed an initial audition on 17 June. Bowie and his manager were confident that the recall would lead to a part in the production, but it was not to be.
The producers were auditioning for changes that were to take place in the cast and I arranged for David to be seen on June 17. When he was recalled for a further audition on the 23rd we expected that he would be offered a part, but once again he was unlucky.
