David Bowie performed at Wolverhampton’s Catacombs Club on 22 August 1969, performing two sets for a £40 fee.
The Catacomb Club stood on the corner of Temple Street and Bond Street, and from 1967-74 was a well-known venue for the R&B and Northern Soul scene.
Steve Dobson, who owned the Catacombes [sic] Club, Temple Street, Wolverhampton, gave David a gig on August 22. He did two thirty-minute spots and got forty-pounds.
