David Bowie flew from Amsterdam to London on 27 August 1969.
He had travelled to the Netherlands on 25 August to appear on the TV show Doebidoe, and the following day gave interviews to Radio Hilversum and Radio Veronica.
He was accompanied on the return journey by Mercury Records’ Calvin Mark Lee, with whom he had spent the previous night.
