On the evening of 24 September 1969, David Bowie attended a meeting to discuss the direction of Growth – the Beckenham Arts Lab.
The meeting took place at the Three Tuns pub, where the Arts Lab events occurred each Sunday.
By the late summer of 1969 Bowie was beginning to become disillusioned with the Arts Lab, although he performed at several of their future events.
