Prior to his show at the Brighton Dome, in the afternoon of 11 October 1969 David Bowie gave an interview to the Belgian Radio Service.
The interview was conducted at the BBC’s Broadcasting House, London, by Ward Bogaert, who had met Bowie in Malta earlier in the year.
Ward Bogaert ended his broadcast with these words: ‘The boy is called David Bowie. We saw him as the symbol of the youth and the England and the World of tomorrow. With his fanatical following he reminds one of a prophet.’ The programme was transmitted on January 1, 1970.
