David Bowie performed for the third time on the German music TV show 4-3-2-1 Musik Für Junge Leute on 29 October 1969.
He had previously appeared on the show in Hamburg on 27 February and 20 September 1968.
Bowie sang ‘Space Oddity’ over pre-recorded backing tapes.
This appearance took place in West Berlin. Bowie and his manager Kenneth Pitt had arrived the previous day, and stayed at the Plaza Hotel on the Kurfürstendamm.
On the way to the studio, we were shown the Berlin wall then, the show completed, we returned to London. The programme was transmitted on November 22.
