The fourth show of David Bowie’s Scottish tour of 1969 was at the Kinema Ballroom in Dunfermline on 9 November.
This was Bowie’s first headlining tour. His support act was Junior’s Eyes, who were also his backing band. Most of the group had played on Bowie’s second album, which was released on 14 November. Also performing on this dates was local band The Shadettes, who later became Nazareth.
Bowie was paid £100 for each show. The dates of the Scottish tour were Perth (7 November), Auchinleck (8), Kilmarnock (8), Dunfermline (9), Kirkcaldy (14), Edinburgh (14), and Dundee (15).
After 9 November Junior’s Eyes had to perform tour dates of their own, leaving Bowie to play solo sets. As a result, scheduled shows at Glasgow (10), Stirling (11), Aberdeen (12), and Hamilton (13) were cancelled.
