David Bowie performed at Beckenham’s Three Tuns pub on 4 December 1969.
This was his 23rd appearance at the venue. It was for Growth – the Beckenham Arts Lab, which he had co-founded earlier in the year.
Bowie often appeared at the Arts Lab events, which were mostly on Sunday nights at the pub. But towards the end of 1969 his interest started to wane as his career began to take off, and his appearances became less frequent.
