David Bowie performed at Johnston Hall at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland on 30 January 1970.
He was accompanied by bassist Tony Visconti and percussionist Tex Johnson.
The show had been arranged by Bowie’s manager to coincide with his appearance the day before on Cairngorm Ski Night.
The programme was recorded on January 29 and transmitted on February 27, but as the fee was only thirty-five pounds I had to find something else for him to do in the vicinity, thereby making the long journey to Aberdeen worthwhile. Andy Lothian, the Scottish agent, fortunately required another artist for a function at Johnston Hall, Aberdeen University on the 30th, the only problem being that the job needed a backing group. David liked the idea of playing at the University so he arranged for a trio [sic] of musicians to go with him to Scotland.
