Two days after his arrival in the USA, on 25 February 1971 David Bowie travelled from Washington, DC to Philadelphia.
Prior to the journey, Bowie gave interviews to a local newspaper and radio station.
He travelled to Philadelphia with Ron Oberman from Mercury Records, who were funding the month-long promotional trip. Bowie returned to London on 18 February 1971.
