David Bowie flew from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport on 4 February 1971.
He was on a month-long promotional tour of the USA, which began on 23 January and ended on 18 February.
Bowie stayed in Chicago for two days. On this first day he went to see the band Wilderness Road perform at the Quiet Knight club. The band was represented by Mercury Records’ Ron Oberman, who was his chaperone for much of the trip.
