David Bowie flew from Atlanta, Texas, to Houston on 10 February 1971.
He was in the USA as part of a trip to promote The Man Who Sold The World. Bowie’s trip began on 23 January and ended on 18 February.
In Houston Bowie visited several radio stations to give interviews. While there, however, a local resident who took exception to his look pulled a gun and called him “a fag”.
In the evening Bowie flew to San Francisco, staying there for three days.
