David Bowie recorded a BBC radio session for Sounds Of The 70s on 11 January 1972. It was his eighth session for BBC radio.
This edition was presented by John Peel, and was broadcast on 28 January 1972. It was produced by John F Muir and engineered by Nick Gomm.
The recording took place in Studio T1 at Kensington House, Shepherds Bush, London. The venue was later converted to the K West hotel.
Bowie sang and played guitar. He was joined by Mick Ronson on guitar, Trevor Bolder on bass, and Mick Woodmansey on drums.
Four songs were recorded: ‘Ziggy Stardust’, ‘Queen Bitch’, ‘I’m Waiting For The Man’, and ‘Lady Stardust’.
