David Bowie returned to London on 12 June 1972, following a three-day trip to New York.
He had been in the Big Apple to promote the albums Hunky Dory and The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.
Bowie was accompanied on the trip by his guitarist Mick Ronson and manager Tony Defries. They stayed at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel.
