David Bowie saw Alice Cooper live at the Empire Pool in Wembley, London, on 30 June 1972.
Bowie had previously seen Cooper perform on 7 November 1971.
Accompanying Bowie at the show were Iggy Pop and photographer Mick Rock. The support act was Roxy Music, who had played with Bowie five days previously.
Bowie was a fan of Alice Cooper’s on-stage theatricality, elements of which he incorporated into his own shows. This concert helped inspire Bowie’s Rainbow Theatre shows in August 1972, which also featured the Astronettes and Lindsay Kemp.
In May 1976 Bowie performed at the Empire Pool for six consecutive nights, during the Isolar Tour.
