This was the 53rd date of the Ziggy Stardust tour, which had begun on 29 January 1972.
Bowie performed a second show at the Hardrock on 3 September. On both occasions the support act was Iguana, whose piano player Roy Young played on Bowie’s Low album.
This was the opening night for the Hardrock, which closed in October 1975. The Ziggy Stardust Tour returned to the venue on 28 and 29 December 1972.
