David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre on 7 October 1972.
It was the 63rd date of the Ziggy Stardust Tour, which had begun on 29 January 1972. The final song, ‘The Jean Genie’, had been recorded over the previous two days, and made its live debut at this show.
I think I might have written ‘Cracked Actor’ around this period and I certainly performed ‘Jean Genie’ for the first time in Chicago.
