On 13 October 1972 David Bowie and Mick Ronson mixed ‘The Jean Genie’ .
The session took place at RCA Studios in Nashville. They also mixed four songs from their live show in Boston earlier in the month: ‘John I’m Only Dancing’, ‘Changes’, ‘The Supermen’, and ‘Life On Mars?’.
At this time Bowie and his MainMan management team were considering releasing a live album, which never came to pass.
All but from ‘Life On Mars?’ were eventually released on the 1989 box set Sound + Vision, while all four live tracks were included on the 30th anniversary edition of Aladdin Sane in 2003.
