David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at the Pirates World amusement park in Dania, Florida on 17 November 1972.
It was the 74th date of the Ziggy Stardust Tour, which had begun on 29 January 1972.
The support act for this date was Ginger. They were a late substitution for the billed act Nitzinger, who were double booked and unable to play.
The earliest known recording of ‘Drive-In Saturday’ is from this show. Bowie introduced it as “a song from the year 2033”.
I’ve a new song for you I’d like to do very much. I wrote it on the train from LA to Chicago before I came down here, and I tried to write it on the train journey from Chicago to here.
