In March 1973 David Bowie travelled from the USA to Japan aboard the SS Oronsay, stopping en route in San Francisco, Vancouver, and Hawaii.
On 28 March the ship arrived in Honolulu. Bowie was greeted with flower garlands and given a tour of the main island before setting sail that evening for Yokohama, Japan.
