David Bowie and Geoff MacCormack boarded a train from Moscow to Berlin on 2 May 1973.
Their ultimate destination was Paris, which they reached the following day.
The journey took them through Poland and West Berlin. There they mistakenly boarded a connecting train to Belgium, but managed to change to the Paris train just in time. There they went to the Hotel George V where they met up with Angela Bowie, MainMan’s Cherry Vanilla, and RCA press officer Andrew Hoy.
