David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall on 28 May 1973.
It was the 123rd date of the Ziggy Stardust Tour, which had begun on 29 January 1972. Bowie and the band took to the stage two hours late, due to Zowie Bowie’s second birthday celebrations earlier in the day.
It was a successful gig in The Midlands. I can’t be sure now that Hamptons were actually Wolvered but certainly the after show routine had become quite boring. The terrible ‘Hamptons’ joke has to be credited to Dave Grohl.
