David and Angie Bowie moved into 89 Oakley Street in Chelsea, London, on 17 October 1973.
They rented the house until 16 December 1974. They had previously been staying at a Maida Vale flat owned by actor Diana Rigg, but were forced to move following complaints at the noise.
The Bowies were joined at the house by various members of staff: David’s secretary Ava Clarke, Angie’s assistant Daniella Parmer, Zowie’s childminder Marion Skene, chef Anton Jones, and costume designer Freddie Buretti. Shortly afterwards Bowie’s new partner Ava Cherry also moved in.
The monthly rent was £600, paid by Bowie’s management company MainMan.
