David Bowie performed at the Spectrum in Philadelphia on 25 November 1974.
It was the 68th date of the Diamond Dogs Tour, which had kicked off in Montreal on 14 June.
This was the second of two dates at the Spectrum, the other having taken place on 18 November. This leg of the tour was known as the Soul Tour.
The musical director was Mike Garson, who also played piano and Mellotron. Earl Slick and Carlos Alomar played guitar, the bass guitarist was Emir Ksasan, and the drummer was Dennis Davis.
The backing singers were Ava Cherry, Robin Clark, Geoff MacCormack (billed as Warren Peace), Luther Vandross, Diane Sumler, and Anthony Hinton. The line-up was completed by David Sanborn on saxophone and flute, and percussionist Pablo Rosario.
Bowie returned to the Spectrum on 15 and 16 March 1976 during the Isolar Tour; 28 and 29 April 1978 for the Isolar II Tour; 18, 19, 20, and 21 July 1983 for the Serious Moonlight Tour; and 9, 10, 12, and 13 July 1990 for the Sound+Vision Tour.
