David Bowie performed at the US ’83 Festival at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernadino, California, on 30 May 1983.
This show was not part of the Serious Moonlight Tour. Bowie appeared after Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak offered him $1.5 million to perform. As a result, a planned concert at La Beaujoire in Nantes, France, on 29 May was cancelled.
Bowie’s guitarists were Carlos Alomar and Earl Slick. Dave Lebolt was on keyboards and synthesizers, and Steve Elson, Stan Harrison, Lenny Pickett played saxophones. Carmine Rojas played bass guitar and Tony Thompson was on drums and percussion. George and Frank Simms were the backing singers.
