David Bowie performed at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, on 5 June 1996, as part of the Outside Tour.
It was the 68th date of the tour, which began on 14 September in Hartford, USA, and the second of two consecutive nights in Tokyo.
Bowie’s guitarist was Reeves Gabrels, and Mike Garson played piano and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, and Zack Alford played the drums.
Bowie had previously played at the Nippon Budokan on 11 December 1978 during the Isolar II Tour; 20, 21, 22, and 24 October 1983 for the Serious Moonlight Tour; and 17 February 1992 for Tin Machine’s It’s My Life Tour.
He returned to the venue on 8 and 9 March 2004 for A Reality Tour.
