David Bowie performed at the Long Marston Airfield in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, on 18 July 1996, as part of the Outside Tour.
This show, part of the Phoenix Festival, was the 91st date of the tour, which began on 14 September in Hartford, USA.
A six-song excerpt from the show was broadcast on television by the BBC. The performance of ‘The Hearts Filthy Lesson’ appeared on the 1999 live album liveandwell.com.
Bowie’s guitarist was Reeves Gabrels, and Mike Garson played piano and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, and Zack Alford played the drums.
Bowie returned to the Phoenix Festival on 19 and 20 July 1997 during the Earthling Tour.
