David Bowie performed at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on 15 October 1997, as part of the Earthling Tour.
This show was part of the GQ Awards. It was the 71st date of the tour, which began on 7 June 1997 in Lübeck, Germany.
‘I’m Afraid Of Americans’, ‘Battle For Britain (The Letter)’, ‘Seven Years In Tibet’, and ‘Little Wonder’ all appeared on the 1999 live album liveandwell.com.
Bowie’s guitarist was Reeves Gabrels, and Mike Garson played piano and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, vocals and keyboards, and Zack Alford played the drums.
Bowie had first performed at the Radio City Music Hall during the Ziggy Stardust Tour on 14 and 15 February 1973.
He performed there again during the Diamond Dogs Tour, for seven nights from 28 October to 3 November 1974.
His final appearance at the venue was on 8 September 2005, for the Condé Nast Fashion Rocks event.
