David Bowie performed at the Close Up Planet Festival in São Paulo, Brazil, on 1 November 1997, as part of the Earthling Tour.
It was the 76th date of the tour, which began on 7 June 1997 in Lübeck, Germany.
The festival took place at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera arena. Also appearing on the bill were Barão Vermelho, Charlie Brown Jr, Erasure, No Doubt, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, and Rita Lee.
Bowie’s guitarist was Reeves Gabrels, and Mike Garson played piano and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, vocals and keyboards, and Zack Alford played the drums.
