David Bowie performed at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, on 21 October 2002 for the Heathen Tour. This was his final appearance at the venue.
It was the 34th date of the tour, which began on 29 November at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
Earl Slick was on guitar, Gerry Leonard played guitar and keyboards, and Mark Plati played guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, guitar, and backing vocals, and Mike Garson played keyboards. Sterling Campbell was on drums, and Catherine Russell played keyboards and percussion and sang backing vocals.
The Ziggy Stardust Tour had called at the Tower on 30 November and 1 and 2 December 1972, returning on 16, 17, 18, and 19 February 1973.
During the Diamond Dogs Tour, Bowie performed at the venue on 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 July 1974. All but the last date were recorded, and released as the David Live album later that year.
On 19 March 1977 he performed there during Iggy Pop’s The Idiot Tour. Tin Machine’s It’s My Life Tour also came to the venue on 15 and 17 November 1991.
