Box sets
The first David Bowie box set was 1989’s Sound + Vision, a career retrospective which contained album tracks, demos, live recordings and rarities. It was reissued in 2003 with a slightly different track listing.
In 2015 the first in a series of career-encompassing box sets was released. Five Years (1969-1973) did not go back to Bowie’s 1967 debut album, but began with his second album and concluded with Aladdin Sane. The box set was followed by several further titles, each of which contained a variety of studio albums, concert recordings, remixes, single edits and b-sides.
This section also includes releases such as the BOWPROMO collection of early Hunky Dory mixes, and the 7″ demo collections. While the length of these may be enough to class them as EPs, they are in this section due to their physical format.
